On Saturday, May 4 and Sunday, May 5, 2024 join us as The Upper Thames Military Re-enactment Society and the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority present the Battle of Longwoods. Re-enactors come together to recreate the Battle of Longwoods and provide a glimpse into life during the early 19th century.
Longwoods Road Conservation Area will be open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day of the event. Come and experience life as a soldier, camp follower, Indigenous member and merchant. Step into an authentically recreated camp – hear the crack of the musket, the roar of the cannon, the smell of food being prepared over open fire – there is something for the whole family.
The weekend will include:
- Live action tactical and artillery demonstrations
- Live period music throughout each day
