By 1967 he’d been commissioned by the CBC to write a song that reflected the Canadian story and he performed the ‘The Canadian Railroad Trilogy’ at Canada’s Centennial celebration on Canada Day, July 1, 1967 on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.
